| 1) What is art? My second answer was a lot longer than my first. I mention colors and mediums, which are more characteristic of art. My first answer was just a creative general statement. My second answer went into more of the details that I had learnt through the semester. 3) Is copying always plagiarism or is there a gray area? Explain your thoughts. I liked this question because both answers were pretty much the same. I believed there was a gray area in both and described how everyone inspires each other. I believed art was a team effort then and now. It is not called copying but inspiration. 5) What is artistic style? List as many as you can. The second set of answers was very different from the first. In the beginning of the year, since I didn’t know about the wide variety of artistic styles, I had used yet another general statement describing the question. In the second set of answers I had actually listed the types I had learnt, such as realism, impressionism, photorealism, etc. The second set of answers was much more informed than the first. 7) What is the point of this class? What do you think you’ll get out of it? At the end of the semester, my answer was a lot longer than at the beginning of the semester. At the beginning of the year, I had seen art as simply a way to relax and take a break from complex education, which is true but it is not art in its entirety. At the end of the year I had a much more broad perspective of art and saw it in not only a way to relax but a way to be inspired. I am also more aware of many different ways of creating art. |
